Let the joyous news be spread…

…at last, at last, my blog will be read! Thank you for tuning into my very first blog post and what I hope will be a long and beautiful friendship. It wasn’t so long ago I discovered design blogs and my life and times changed forever. With a background in journalism and a life-long passion for design, its as if this day has been waiting for me all along.

As I embark on this wild new world words like “ecstatic” and “over-the-moon” swirl around my mind. Such big and beautiful footsteps to follow already…do I dare? I kept telling myself if I can make one person smile doing what I LOVE, well yes it most definitely will be worth it! So here I am friends ready to give back to this generous and loving community that has already added so much spice to my life.

“I am going to make everything around me beautiful. That will be my life”

– Elsie de Wolfe

Before I get started with my design ideas, a few BIG HEART thank you’s to dole out to Joni, Layla and Lauren. You gals have been a shining light of inspiration since I stumbled upon your blogs and I have been cheering for you ever since. My dear friend Katherine at Postpartum Progress. I was so grateful the day I met you! We crossed paths via an email looking for play dates and discovered we were practically related. Well not really but coming across a fellow Spartan School of Journalism grad that lives right around the corner, authors a very successful blog and carries a torch of generosity, close enough. Again, its as if this day was planned or me long before arriving at it.

Perhaps I’m getting a little bit sappy and carrying on but I can’t help but think about my high school English teacher who encouraged my start in writing a looong, long time ago and my dear mother-in-law Jan Schoenberger who enjoyed a successful self-taught interior design career later in life. Of course, my solid gold parents who did what they could, where they were, with what they had to put us all through school and raised us to be good kids, good people. I think about the steadfast support of my husband and how difficult it is for him to say no to his little lady. Thank you for making my dreams yours! My simply awesome girlfriends and my big sis and big brother. I’m as tough as they come thanks to them! xoxo

So I think I’ll end here now with a few sneak peeks and tell you I’ve got big plans for us my pretties! In the coming weeks and months I hope to finally achieve an organized and tasteful office, renew a dining room worthy of a dinner party, jazz up a builder-grade master bath and j. style a mud room. All that and a ton of fun!! Cheers!
