  1. I never do this, comment, but I absolutely cannot walk away without asking you to think of a different material for the small back entry that you were going to use brick on. While it would look good, I would so hate to have to clean rough textured brick after a muddy spring or a melting winter. Maybe slate?

  2. You feel like a sister to me. My best girlfriend is Betty. We have been best friends since grade school. How did I get that lucky. You home is going to be your heart. I can just feel it. Aren’t you lucky. There will be set backs but you will prevail. No one I know would not think your ideas are just great as I do too. Can hardly wait to see them accomplished. I am so on your side and with your spirit. Ann

    1. Thank you so much for your sweet note Ann! And you are right, I have been experiencing set backs with this reno but we will prevail! Thank you again for your kind heart.

  3. wow! love this – can’t wait for your final reveal….. 😉

you know, my sister’s best friend developed scleraderma one day out of nowhere. her fingers – literally turned blue one night and she was never well again. it’s an autoimmune disease related to lupus. she was a teacher. and a runner. the most healthy, beautiful, in shape, person. within one year, she was gone. passed away. it was unbelievable. I still can’t wrap my head around it. so I can relate to your friend. It’s shocking that today there are illnesses that can’t be cured or fixed. I feel so bad for you because I know how close you were.

  4. l sure am looking forward to the last pictures you will be taking when your project is finished. l know it will be wonderful!!!

  5. Hey grew up in Atlanta dn my husband in Grosse Pointe, Michigan. We spent our summer vacations at his parent’s and sister’s cottages on Harsen’s Island. This is my children’s Happy Place :)! I was wondering what townie Michigan is your house?

    1. Crazy because my husband’s grandparents had a home on stilts in Harsen’s Island and he spent his Summers there too! This home is in Flat Rock, just south of Detroit, where I grew up. I’m about to announce this week another fixer upper in the Village of Port Austin in “the thumb” on Lake Huron this week. So stay tuned for that as well as all the updates coming for Lori’s House. Thanks for stopping by!!!
