Designing a dream bath

Hi loves,
How are you? Design life is humming along over here. Lisa and I are at it again, this time a master bath overhaul. We’re hoping you’ll find the transformation incredible. I for one, am already jealous of our sweet clients. And they are SO SWEET. Like, I wanna meet their kids and tell them how lucky they are, sweet. But I’m sure they already know that.

They love Italy, Charleston and hints of modern and have traveled a lot throughout Italy. Did I mention jealous?

So we started with this inspiration photo…

The tones and travertine are a perfect choice.
Our gal who does our sketches is on maternity leave (congrats!!) so yours truly gave it a go on the cabinet elevation…don’t laugh!
I don’t know, I’m thinking Mrs. Hill maybe would have given me a B, B-? Maybe?
Moving on.
Our “touch of modern” fixtures from Lowes. Lisa and I pride ourself on a mix of high and low in the design process. Good design obtainable by all.
The walls will be Antique White and the cabinets Tony Taupe, both Sherwin Williams, both picking up on the threads of color throughout the travertine floors and shower walls, complete with some bling bling mercury glass knobs from Anthropologie.

The big splurge was this GORGEOUS mosaic pattern around the extra large, frameless shower. Our client had the wonderful suggestion of using it as a backsplash along the seven foot custom vanity as well (I love it when this happens).

Sourced pair of mirrors for the vanity.

Coupled with three of these very good looking, very affordable sconces from Ballard Designs. Again,  a hint of modern.

And lastly, the homeowners have one of those large and not in charge 80s bath tub, on a diagonal no less, taking up almost the entire footprint of the bathroom. Be gone! And in its place, a custom-finished armoire in Annie Sloan’s “coco” finish for additional storage, which the room is lacking, and it also adds that rustic Italian touch. We will be sourcing a chair with a sweet custom skirted bottom to bring in some pattern and softness.

Cannot wait to show you all the finished product! Stay tuned and have an awesome Thursday!

Peace out,
Jen
